2015 All-Showcase Teams
There were plenty of great performances over the weekend which made this list tough to make, but here are the All-Showcase Teams of 2015:
First Team
Milan Harrison (Chicopee) – The fiery play of Harrison sparked Chicopee in their win. He was a defensive presence throughout the game finishing with 4 steals. Harrison did damage from beyond the three point line as well as some athletic finishes at the basket. Harrison finished with 26 points and 6 rebounds to go along with his 4 steals.
Kyle Doucette (Williston) – The Duece was loose. Doucette seemed to do a bit of everything for Williston. He was all over the offensive and defensive boards, including a put back dunk to set the tone very early in the game. He dominated the paint on the offensive and defensive ends, finishing with a huge double-double of 19 points and 15 rebounds to go along with 2 steals and 2 blocks.
Jamie Staples (Amherst Girls) – The sharpshooting guard directed the offense for Amherst, but was also able to get her own shots at will. Staples hit shots from all over the floor and was able to drive and get to the free throw line en route to a 30 point performance. Staples shot 12-14 from the line. She also added 10 rebounds and 5 steals in the win.
Keiayvin Hayes (Putnam) – Hayes hit shots from all over the floor. He was deadly off of the catch and shoot, including a few threes. He was strong in transition and driving to the hoop with some crafty finishes around the basket. His hustle helped him get 6 rebounds and 3 steals. He finished the game with a PVTO record 32 points. Joseph Saba (St. Bernard’s) – Saba owned the paint for St. Bernard’s. He used a wide repertoire of finishes in the paint and was a beast on the boards. His defensive presence was felt with 6 blocks and even more shots altered. Saba finished with a monster double-double of 23 points and 19 rebounds.
Second Team
Jackson Mannix (Deerfield) – Mannix caught fire in the middle of the second half hitting 3 straight 3 pointers. His length helped him cause problems defensively, which led to 3 steals and 2 blocks. His unselfish play helped his teammates get good looks. Mannix finished with 22 points and 4 rebounds to go along with his 3 steals and 2 blocks.
Aaron Spann (Commonwealth) – Spann was big presence on the offensive and defensive end for Commonwealth. His smothering defense caused plenty of trouble for Williston and led to two steals and one emphatic fast break dunk. Spann had some strong finishes at the rim in traffic and some efficient shooting en route to a 24 point performance.
Joe Advey (South Hadley) – Advey led the way for South Hadley with some very efficient shooting. Advey went 5-8 on 3 pointers. He made some big plays down the stretch to ignite the crowd as South Hadley was able to pull away. Advey finished with 23 points and 6 rebounds.
Tyonne Malone (Putnam) – Malone was overshadowed, only slightly, by the performance of his teammate Keiayvin Hayes. Malone used his athleticism and quickness to get the basket and to the free throw line, as well as facilitate for his teammates. He was a beast on the boards, outjumping any competition. Malone finished the game with 20 points and 10 rebounds to go along with 4 assists.
Nick Murray (Littleton) – Murray was able to get his points in a variety of ways. The lefty was able to score in transition, on the pull up, attacking the basket, and from beyond the arc. He contributed all over the court on the defensive end as well. Murray’s final stat line was 25 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists.
Honorable Mentions
Raphael Coleman (Easthampton) – 17 points/5 rebounds/4 assists/3 steals
Sami Roe (Hopkins) – 19 points/8 rebounds/4 assists/3 steals
Treyvon Ringgold (Taconic) – 24 points/9 rebounds
